NOPD Arrests Suspect for Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery

On May 29, 2017, Seventh District officers have arrested Warren “Squally” Smith (DOB: 4-15-1988) for multiple charges. Officers initiated a traffic stop on a black, four-door Chevrolet Tahoe for a broken tail light, and discovered Smith was the driver of the vehicle.

Smith was wanted in connection with an aggravated battery that took place in November of 2016 where he reportedly pistol-whipped an elderly victim, and an armed robbery on May 6, 2017, where an acquaintance of Smith’s was robbed of cash and a firearm. The aggravated battery and armed robbery both occurred within the 6700 and 6800 blocks of Tara Lane.  Smith was also wanted for a parole violation and illegal discharge of a weapon.

If you have information about any of these incidents please contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
