NOPD has made an arrest in a homicide by shooting that occurred on February 22, 2025 in the Third District.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue on the date at about 7:30 a.m. for reports of a deceased person located near a walking path. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. He was later identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner as 35-year-old Reynard Cennett.
Today, March 13, 2025, Homicide Detective Maggie Darling obtained an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Mckenzie Fair.
Fair was found to be incarcerated at the Orleans Justice Center and was rebooked this afternoon on charges of second degree murder.
