The NOPD today announced information regarding rescheduled Mardi Gras parades that were postponed on March 4, 2025, due to inclement weather.
The truck parades & the Krewe of Barkus will roll this Sunday (March 9, 2025).
Trucks in the ELKS Krewe of Orleanians truck parade and in the Krewe of Crescent City truck parade will arrive at the starting location (Tchoupitoulas Street at Napoleon Avenue) at 8:00 a.m. The ELKS Krewe of Orleanians parade will roll at 9:00 a.m., with the Krewe of Crescent City parade to immediately follow.
The parades will travel on an abbreviated route moving north on Tchoupitoulas Street to Saint Charles Avenue, then continuing east on Saint Charles Avenue to Louisiana Avenue, turning north onto Louisiana Avenue until disband at the intersection of Toledano Street and South Claiborne Avenue. The parade route will be staffed appropriately by law enforcement.
The NOPD is mandating that, for sanitation purposes, members riding in these krewes do not throw any beads prior to the start of the route at Tchoupitoulas Street nor at the end of the route at the intersection of Toledano Street and South Claiborne Avenue.
Additionally, the Krewe of Barkus parade remains scheduled to roll at 2:00 p.m. along its previously announced route in the French Quarter. Staffing for this route is being handled on a detail basis through the Office of Police Secondary Employment.
