UPDATE: The scheduled sobriety checkpoint for March 9, 2023, has been canceled. It will be rescheduled for a later date, which will be announced when determined. This release has been amended to reflect this change.
The NOPD’s Traffic Division will conduct an upcoming sobriety checkpoint in Orleans Parish. on Wednesday, March 16, 2023.
The checkpoint will operate between the hours of 9:00 p.m. on March 16 and 5:00 a.m. on March 17.
Motorists will experience minimal delays and should have the proper documentation available if requested, i.e., proof of insurance, driver’s license, etc.
