The NOPD is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred this morning March 23, 2023 in the 2800 block of Almonaster Avenue.
At about 7:33 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a beige GMC Yukon SUV with heavy damage and the adult female driver outside the vehicle.
Through investigation, detectives determined that the GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on the Almonaster Avenue overpass when – for reasons unknown – the vehicle lost control, flipped and came to rest on top of the overpass. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. EMS transported her to a nearby hospital. The adult male front passenger was not injured.
