NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (March 17, 2023) at the intersection of I-10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard and left one person dead.

At about 2:18 p.m., NOPD responded to a call of a subject down near the Crowder Boulevard exit ramp of Interstate 10 West. Officers at the scene determined the location of occurrence to be the intersection of I-10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard. A male gunshot wound victim, believed to have been a pedestrian walking in the area at the time of the incident, was found down at the location. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
