The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (March 19, 2022) in the 4500 block of Dodt Avenue that left one person dead.
At about 5:39 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a local hospital for a call of a male gunshot wound victim arriving via private conveyance. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Through investigation, detectives determined the location of occurrence to be the 4500 block of Dodt Avenue.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
