NOPD Identifies Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for William Powell III (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-15-1982) in the investigation of a homicide on March 19, 2022, in the 3000 block of South Saratoga Street.

At about 2:45 a.m. on March 19, NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of a female subject down at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female subject lying on the sidewalk. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

On March 21, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office positively identified the victim as 35-year-old Ciara Bullock.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Powell as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of second-degree murder.

Powell is beleived to have possibly fled to the Jackson, Mississippi area.
