NOPD Arrests Suspect for Attempted Murder in Second District

On March 27, 2022, NOPD Second District officers arrested Shane J. McShane (pictured, black male, DOB: 04-04-1998) for attempted murder in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on February 11, 2022, in the 3600 block of Hollygrove Street.

At about 8:51 p.m. on February 11, the victim was reportedly walking to his vehicle when two unknown black males exited two vehicles which had just stopped in the block. The subjects then allegedly shot at the victim, striking him multiple times, before fleeing the scene.

Through investigation, Second District detectives positively identified McShane as one of the perpetrators and obtained an arrest warrant for one count of attempted murder.

On March 27, McShane was located by Second District officers at his residence. McShane surrendered to police without incident. A search warrant was executed on McShane’s residence, during which a handgun was located.

McShane was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on the aforementioned charge, as well as on a charge of attempted vehicle burglary in connection with a separate incident on March 12 in the 9000 block of Palm Alley.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Second District detectives at 504-658-6030.
