NOPD Announces Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between March 20-26

 Listed below are arrests or clearances warrant obtained between March 20-26, 2022, in violent crime investigations by the NOPD:

 Homicide

  • On March 20, the NOPD arrested Daphney D. Jackson (pictured, black female, DOB: 09-16-1997) for manslaughter, obstruction of justice and illegal use of weapons. The arrest was in connection with a homicide incident on March 20 in the 700 block of Bourbon Street.
  • On March 22, the NOPD announced that four juvenile suspects – a 17-year-old male, two 15-year-old females and a 14-year-old female (all not pictured), had each been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder. The arrests were in connection with a fatal carjacking incident that occurred on March 21 in the 300 block of North Scott Street.
  • On March 25, the NOPD arrested Bokio B. Johnson (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-05-1975) for second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. The arrest was in connection with a homicide incident on March 23 at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Providence Place.

Shooting

  • On March 22, NOPD First District detectives announced that a warrant had been obtained for the arrest of Javen N. Cole (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-02-1998) for attempted second-degree murder. The incident occurred on March 18 in the 1900 block of Canal Street.
  • On March 25, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad arrested Jahari J. Levy Sr. (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-06-1985) for aggravated battery, theft, simple battery and domestic abuse charges including battery, child endangerment and battery of a dating partner. The arrest was in connection with a shooting incident on December 26, 2021 in the 1300 block of Lesseps Street.

Armed Robbery /Carjacking

  • On March 28, NOPD Eighth and Fifth District officers arrested William Joseph Lewis (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-23-1984) for armed robbery, attempted murder and second-degree robbery. The arrest was in connection with an incident on March 25 at the intersection of Burgundy and Barracks streets, an incident on March 16 at the intersection of North Prieur and Mandeville streets and an incident on March 21 in the 1000 block of Touro Street.
