Suspect Arrested in Eighth District Shooting

The NOPD arrested Jasmine Evans (pictured, female, DOB: 11-16-1993) of Jacksonville, Fla., in the investigation of a shooting on March 6, 2021 in the 500 block of Bourbon Street that left two teenage juveniles injured.

At about 9:51 p.m., NOPD Eighth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting call at the location. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown female subject allegedly fired a gun multiple times at the location, striking two teenaged juvenile males.

Through investigation, detectives shortly thereafter located a female subject near the scene who was positively identified as the perpetrator. The subject, later identified as Evans, was found to be in possession of a handgun at the time.

Evans was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for two counts of aggravated second-degree battery.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
