NOPD Investigating Deadly Shooting in the Seventh District

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in the 5700 block of Read Blvd on March 25, 2021. 

At around 9:52 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting at the location.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering with a gunshot wound(s).  The victim died at the scene.  The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was exiting Interstate 10-E in his vehicle onto Read Blvd when he was hit by the suspect’s car who was travelling north on Read Blvd.  Both drivers exited their vehicles and got into an argument before the suspect produced a gun and shot the victim.  Afterward, the suspect ran away from the scene.  No further information is available at this time. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the decedent’s office cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
