NOPD Announces Significant Arrests Made in Recent Weeks

Listed below are significant arrests that have been made on violent crime warrants issued by the NOPD between March 6-21, 2021:

Shootings

  • On March 20, 2021, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Bobby Cash (male, DOB: 04-10-2000). Cash had outstanding warrants in Orleans Parish for charges including attempted second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, two counts of illegal use of a weapon, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of possession of crack cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin, one count of aggravated second degree battery and 11 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. The warrants are connected to the following incidents: an aggravated battery by shooting on January 9, 2021 in the 600 block of North Tonti Street; an aggravated criminal damage to property on February 8, 2021 in the 600 block of North Prieur Street; and a drug law violation in the 2900 block of Leon C. Simon Drive on November 19, 2020.

Armed Robbery/Carjacking

  • On March 6, 2021, NOPD Seventh District arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male for 27 outstanding warrants for incidents including vehicle burglaries, attempted vehicle burglaries, trespassing, auto thefts, illegal possession of a firearm and armed carjacking. The incidents occurred over several months in several districts. The juvenile was shot during an incident on March 6 and was released from the hospital on March 18, at which time he was booked on the aforementioned charges.
  • On March 15, 2021, NOPD’s Violent Crime Abatement & Investigation Team (VCAIT) and the FBI arrested Marvin Legendre (male, DOB: 11-27-1982) for two counts of armed robbery in the investigation of an incident on March 10, 2021 in the 1400 block of North Broad Street.
  • On  March 18, 2021, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested a 14-year-old juvenile male and a 16-year-old juvenile male for armed robbery, illegal possession of  stolen things, resisting an officer, illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and burglary. The incident occurred in the 6400 block of Fitzhenry Drive on March 17, 2021.
