Suspect, Vehicle Sought in Unauthorized Use of a Moveable in Fourth District

The NOPD is seeking to locate a vehicle and subject in the investigation of an unauthorized use of a moveable that occurred on February 16, 2020.

On February 7, the victim reportedly left the key to her white 2013 Nissan Pathfinder bearing Texas license plate MNL5970 with her neighbor while the victim was to be away from home. On February 16, a family member of the neighbor – identified as Rashawn Bennett (DOB: 06-25-1993) was arrested in a separate incident while in possession of the victim’s vehicle. However, the vehicle had not yet been reported stolen. Bennett was released from police custody and the victim’s vehicle has not been located since that time.

Bennett is described as a black male standing about 5’9” with a thin build, dark brown complexion and short black hair.

When Bennet is located, he will be arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a moveable.

Included with this release is a picture of the actual vehicle involved in this incident.
