NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (March 6, 2020) in the 2100 block of Washington Avenue.

At about 4:09 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they located a male victim down in the internal breezeway of an apartment complex and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and officially identify the victim, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
