Three Indicted, Arrested in Third District Homicide

Three Indicted, Arrested in Third District Homicide

Three individuals were indicted for a homicide that occurred in the Third District.

 

The incident occurred October 29, 2018 around 1:35 a.m. in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue. During the course of the investigation, three individuals were identified as perpetrators of the homicide.

 

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, a grand jury indictment was secured for Donald Reaux, Donny Maxwell, and a known juvenile.

 

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Reaux was located and apprehended by the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office (SWAT) team and NOPD Homicide detectives.

 

Also on Thursday March 28, 2019, Maxwell was located in the 3600 block of Garden Oaks Drive and apprehended by NOPD Homicide detectives, the NOPD VOWS Unit and the United States Marshall Service.

 

The juvenile was already in custody on unrelated charges.

 

The three were indicted on the following charges:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Conspiracy to commit armed robbery
  • Armed robbery
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Conspiracy to obstruct justice

Reaux was also indicted for illegal possession of a firearm by a felon.
