NOPD Seeks Suspect in Third District Attempted Armed Robbery

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the pictured suspect, who is believed to be responsible for an attempted armed robbery that occurred today (March 28, 2019) in the 4600 block of Old Gentilly Road.

At about 5:00 a.m., the pictured subject entered a Waffle House restaurant and provided the cashier with a note demanding money. The male then produced a black revolver with brown handle pates. The cashier was able to forcibly retrieve the firearm from the suspect, at which time the suspect fled the location on foot.

The suspect is identified as a light-skinned black male believed to be in his late 40s, standing about 5’9” to 5”10” and walking with a possible limp. and wearing a grey and blue jacket, white undershirt, light colored pants and a blue New Orleans Pelicans cap. The suspect was also described as having a large scar or burn mark along the left side of his face.
