NOPD Investigating Homicide on St. Ann Street

NOPD Investigating Homicide on St. Ann Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (March 14, 2019) in the 1900 block of St. Ann Street.

At about 8:13 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim lying in a parking lot and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, at which time the incident was reclassified as a homicide.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
