NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

 

Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 45-year-old male whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members. 

The offense occurred at approximately 12:37 p.m., in the 1700 block of Desire Street.  

Fifth District officers responded to a call of a “male down” and upon their arrival, found the victim lying in the street fatally shot. 

Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and pronounce the victim dead.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause death.
