NOPD Identifies Suspect in Home Invasion, Domestic Abuse Battery in Sixth District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Ian N. Petty (DOB: 02-14-1984) in connection with a home invasion and domestic abuse battery incident that occurred on March 1, 2019 in the 2800 block of South Liberty Street.

The victim told police that she had returned to her residence to find her ex-boyfriend, identified as Petty, reportedly inside of the residence and the residence having been ransacked. Petty then allegedly grabbed the victim by the forearms and threw her against the bed. A physical struggle ensued, and the victim reportedly freed herself and fled the residence on foot.

The victim noted that she and Petty had ended their relationship two years ago, and that there were several domestic abuse battery incidents, both documented and undocumented, that occurred during their relationship.

Anyone with information on Petty’s whereabouts is asked to contact NOPD Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060, or call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
