NOPD Arrests Suspect in First District Homicide

The NOPD has arrested Gerardo Bugallo-Beret (DOB: 07-06-1989) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred in the 1900 block of St. Ann Street on March 14, 2019.

At about 8:13 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim lying in a parking lot and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, at which time the incident was reclassified as a homicide.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed Bugallo-Beret as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on one count of second degree murder. Bugallo-Beret was subsequently transported to the Orleans Justice Center, where he was booked accordingly.
