NOPD Arrests Suspect in Eighth District Vehicle Burglary

The NOPD has arrested Alton Spurlock (DOB: 11-27-1947) in the investigation of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 600 block of St. Joseph Street on March 20, 2019.

Spurlock has been positively identified as the individual who, at or about 6:45 a.m.,  was observed in the act of burglarizing the victim’s vehicle, at which time a physical encounter began until the police arrived on scene.

Spurlock suffered minor injuries from falling to the ground during the altercation and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Detectives relocated to the hospital, at which time they positively identified Spurlock as the perpetrator. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Spurlock for simple burglary of an automobile, simple assault and illegal carrying of burglary tools. Spurlock was apprehended on March 23, 2019 and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
