NOPD Arrests Suspect Found in Illegal Possession of Firearm on Bourbon Street

The NOPD arrested John Swartz (DOB: 10-31-1955) after he was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm at a bar on Bourbon Street on February 25, 2019.

At about 11:06 p.m., NOPD Eighth District Bourbon Promenade Unit officers patrolling in the 300 block of Bourbon Street were informed by security staff that a white male subject was inside of a bar armed with a firearm. Upon further investigation, the subject – later identified as Swartz, was found to have a completely concealed and loaded revolver in his possession.

Swartz was arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was booked with illegal carrying of weapons inside of an alcoholic beverage outlet.
