Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Assault on Broad Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating a suspect who is wanted for his involvement in an aggravated assault incident that occurred in the 1900 block of Broad Street.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at or about 4:16 a.m., an unknown subject approached the window of the gas station and asked the victim if his friend was at work. The victim replied and said his friend no longer worked there and the subject became angry. The subject walked to a grey four-door Hyundai and produced a semi-automatic pistol from the driver side of the vehicle and placed the weapon in his waistband. The subject flashed the weapon at the victim several times.

There was another passenger in the vehicle who convinced the subject to get into the vehicle and they drove off. Moments later the subject returned and slowly drove through the parking lot until leaving the second time.

The victim told police the passenger in the vehicle did nothing wrong to him, he was trying to deescalate the situation.

The wanted subject was wearing a blue t-shirt, a plaid over shirt, blue jeans, a red hat with black and white shoes with orange laces.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to notify Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
