Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offenders Warrant Squad today arrested three individuals for aggravated battery by cutting, armed robbery with a firearm and attempted armed robbery with a firearm.

Officers arrested Latonja Busby (DOB: 10/02/87) for aggravated battery by cutting, domestic abuse battery and violation of protective order. The incident occurred on March 12, 2018 in the 7800 block of Coronet Court. At about 12:59 p.m., the victim was involved in a verbal alteration that turned physical. Busby reportedly went into the kitchen area, armed herself with a knife and started stabbing the victim. The victim sustained injuries to his right forearm and was taken to the hospital for treatment. A photo of Busby was not available.

Anyone with additional information on the incident is asked to contact Seventh District officers at 504-658-6070.

In a separate incident in the Sixth District, officers arrested a male juvenile (DOB:06/16/03) for armed robbery with a firearm. The incident occurred on January 2, 2018 in the 1800 block of Peniston Street. The juvenile was also arrested on two additional armed robbery incidents involving a firearm. Those incidents occurred at the following locations: 3500 block of Baronne Street on December 24, 2017 and the intersection of Amelia Street and Carondelet Street on January 19, 2018.

In a separate incident in the Fifth District, officers arrested Jeromy Craft pictured above (DOB:04/09/92) for attempted armed robbery with firearm, aggravated assault by drive by shooting and illegal discharge of a firearm. The incident occurred on March 18, 2018 in the 5200 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

The victim told police he was in the area around 3 p.m. using an ATM when Craft, a relative of the victim, approached him from the back with a handgun and demanded his money. The victim did not comply but got into his vehicle to leave the location. At that time, Craft also got into the passenger side of another vehicle with another occupant and attempted to stop the victim from leaving. Craft then followed the victim to his home, pointed a handgun outside of the passenger side window and fired a single shot into the air. The arrested subject then exited the vehicle and began to chase the victim. The victim was able to gain entry into his residence and locked the door behind him.
