NOPD Arrests Suspect in Aggravated Assault, Battery Incident in Second District

On March 20, 2018, members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad arrested Adam Blazio (DOB: 10-21-1978) in connection with an incident that reportedly occurred on January 29, 2018.

At about 2:47 p.m., Second District officers responded to a disturbance in the area. The victim told police that she was at her place of employment in the 2900 block of Eagle Street earlier in the day when her ex-boyfriend, whom she identified as Blazio, entered the store, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her. She said that Blazio was armed with a handgun and struck her in the top of the head with the weapon. The victim said that she was then forced into a bathroom by Blazio before the two relocated to his vehicle and fled to the 3000 block of General Ogden Street.

A second female victim and a male victim identified as neighbors told police that they overheard an argument between the suspect and victim. As they exited their residence, they said, Blazio allegedly pointed the gun at each of them.

Upon further investigation by Second District officers, Blazio was located and arrested in the 2800 block of Perdido Street and arrested by VOWS officers, to be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of battery of a dating partner. A photo of Blazio was not available.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact the NOPD Second District at 504-658-6020.
