Burglary Suspect Caught on Video

The NOPD needs the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a burglary suspect.

On March 27, 2017, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at the Esperanza Charter School in the 4400 block of South Carrollton Avenue.  Upon arrival they discovered the location had been burglarized. Surveillance video showed an unknown male taking two laptop computers from the location.

If you have information about this incident or the identity of the suspect please contact any Third District detective at 504-658-6030. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.

SafeCam NOLA

Citizen-provided security camera footage is increasingly becoming an invaluable asset to NOPD, helping establish leads and identify perpetrators. By voluntarily registering your contact information with NOPD through SafeCam NOLA, detectives will know how to reach you if a crime occurs in the vicinity of your camera. Registering your information does not provide NOPD with direct access to your camera and NOPD will only contact you if they believe your camera could contain evidence relevant to a criminal investigation. Evidence provided by your camera could mean the difference between bringing a perpetrator to justice versus leaving a crime unsolved.

SafeCam NOLA is a NOPD initiative that enlists the help of community members in the fight against crime. The SafeCam online registration service was developed by the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation.
