NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 18, 2025) in the 21700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about 4:34 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to the location after a passerby reported an unknown subject lying in the grass. Officers responded and located the unresponsive victim, who was subsequently declared deceased. Based on their investigation, detectives determined the subject to be a homicide victim.

The victim was initially reported to be an unknown female. However, upon further investigation, the victim was determined to be an unknown male.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
