NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred during the early hours today (June 28, 2025) in the 500 block of Delery Street and left two people dead.

At about 12:38 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to the location on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unknown male subject down in the street and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. While doing a sweep of the property, officers discovered a second unknown male also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced on scene by New Orleans EMS to be deceased.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and determine official cause of death upon ompletion of autopsy and notification of family.
