NOPD Seeking Person of Interest for Questioning in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a subject identified as a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on April 8, 2022, at the intersection of Lamarque and Sumner streets.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives have developed Lewis Stokes (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-12-1986) as a person of interest in this case. Stokes is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, detectives feel he may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview him.
