NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on June 14, 2022, in the 1600 block of South Liberty Street that left one person dead.

At about 7:24 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location, Upon arrival, they discovered a male subject who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
