The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 10, 2022) in the 6800 block of Mayo Boulevard and left one person dead.
At about 10:09 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a miscellaneous call for service at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male gunshot wound victim who was declared deceased at the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
