NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fourth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 8, 2022) in the 1900 block of Hendee Street that left one person dead and a second injured.

At about 10:21 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located two gunshot wound victims – a 17-year-old female and a 16-year-old male. The female victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital for treatment, while the male was declared deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
