Suspect Arrested in Eighth District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Anna Waldei (pictured, black female, DOB: 01-08-1988) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 300 block of St. Joseph Street on June 25, 2021.

At about 12:15 p.m., NOPD Eighth District officers were dispatched to the location on a report that a male subject had been shot in the leg. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

Through investigation, NOPD Eighth District detectives determined that the incident developed and positively identified Waldei as the perpetrator in this incident, obtaining a warrant for her arrest on a charge of aggravated battery.

Waldei was located and arrested on June 27 in the 2900 block of Lasalle Street. She was arrested and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
