NOPD Seeking Person of Interest for Questioning in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking to locate a subject identified as a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred today (June 8, 2021) in the 1500 block of North Dorgenois Street.

At about 7:30 a.m., NOPD officers responded to a call of a received a call of a carjacking involving an aggravated battery by cutting at the location. Officers arrived on scene and located a female victim who had sustained a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Surveillance video in the area captured images of a subject (pictured) who detectives feel is a person of interest regarding the homicide. This subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, detectives feel he has knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to question him.

The victim’s vehicle (pictured) was reported missing from the scene. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored 2016 Honda HRV bearing Louisiana license plate 323ADB.
