NOPD Investigating Seventh District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 23, 2021) in the 6700 block of Bundy Road.

At about 6:05 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male gunshot wound victim. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.

An individual has been detained for questioning in this investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
