NOPD Investigating Homicide in First District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street that occurred during the early hours today (June 28, 2021) and left one person deceased and another injured.

At about 4:04 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to the area for a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, units discovered one male victim in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street suffering from a gunshot wound. A second male victim was located soon after near the intersection of Tulane and South Carrollton Avenues and having also sustained a gunshot wound.

The first victim was transported via EMS to local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The second victim was also transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was last listed in stable condition.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.  No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
