NOPD Investigates Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting in the 3600 block of North Miro Street that left one-woman dead early Tuesday morning (June 15).

At around 12:36 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to reports of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
