NOPD Arrests Suspect in Third District Shooting

The NOPD has arrested Dejaun Gradley (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-04-1996) in the investigation of a shooting on May 31, 2021 in the 3600 block of Frenchmen Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Third District detectives positively identified Gradley as the perpetrator in this incident, where a firearm was discharged and one victim was struck. Detectives learned that Gradley had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand that was determined to have occurred during the incident.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Gradley’s arrest on four counts of attempted second-degree murder. Upon Gradley’s release from the hospital, he was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
