NOPD Announces Significant Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between June 20-26

Listed below are significant arrests or clearances through warrants or exception obtained between June 20-26, 2021 in investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

  • On June 23, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals arrested Sharod Williams (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-01-1985) for second-degree murder. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Verret Street on April 30.

Shootings

  • On June 21, NOPD First District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Quincy Jackson (not pictured, black male, DOB: 09-08-1990) for aggravated battery by shooting and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Magic Street on June 20. Anyone with additional information on Jackson’s whereabouts is asked to call NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010 or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111.
  • On June 20, NOPD Eighth District detectives obtained arrest warrants for Lauren Wilson (pictured, white female, DOB: 09-20-2001) and Mallory Carmouche (not pictured, white female, DOB: 10-13-1995) for principles to aggravated second-degree battery and an arrest warrant for Amiynzaire White (pictured, black male, DOB: 04-02-1998) for aggravated second-degree battery by shooting. The incident occurred in the 800 block of Saint Ann Street on June 20. Wilson turned herself in to NOPD Sixth District officers and was arrested on June 22. Other significant arrests

  • On June 28, NOPD Second District officers responded to a call for service regarding a group subjects armed with firearms. After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended two of the subjects – Kendrick Steptore (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-08-2002) and Ryan Chopin (pictured, black male, DOB: 04-26-2003) were found to be illegally concealing rifles on their persons. The arrested subjects were charged and booked with illegal carrying of a weapon and illegal carrying a weapon in a firearm-free zone.
