Listed below are significant arrests or clearances through warrants or exception obtained between May 23-29, 2021 in investigations by the NOPD:

Shootings

• On May 28, 2021, NOPD First District officers arrested Lawrence Phelps (pictured, black male, DOB: 10-29-1961) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Castiglione Street on May 28.

• On May 24, 2021, NOPD Eighth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Elbert Joseph Comeaux (black male, DOB: 08-25-2000) for attempted murder. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Loyola Street on May 22.

• On May 23, 2021, NOPD Third District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lordell Shearod (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-12-1998) for attempted first-degree murder. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Pleasure Street on May 12.

• On May 23, 2021, NOPD Sixth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Darryl Jones (black male, DOB: 06-09-1987) for aggravated battery by shooting and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Chippewa Street on May 18.

Armed Robbery

• On May 24, 2021, NOPD First District obtained an arrest warrant for Deanna Lynd (pictured, white female, DOB: 09-04-1977) for principal to armed robbery. The incident occurred in the 500 block of North Rampart Street on May 24.
