NOPD Announces Significant Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between June 13-19, 2021

 

NEW ORLEANS – Listed below are significant arrests or clearances through warrants or exception obtained between June 13-19, 2021 in investigations by the NOPD:

 

Homicide

  • On June 17, the NOPD arrested Darryl Thomas (pictured, black male, DOB: 01-14-1962) for second-degree murder in the investigation of a homicide that occurred overnight (June 16, 2021) in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

Shootings

  • On June 16, NOPD First District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Floyd Maurice Simon (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-09-1992) for aggravated battery by shooting and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The incident occurred in the 9800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard on June 6. Anyone with information on Simon’s whereabouts is asked to call 504-658-6010 or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111.
  • On June 15, NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals a 17-year-old juvenile male (not pictured) for principal to aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred at Vixen and Gallinghouse streets on May 2.
  • On June 14, NOPD Fourth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Cale “Slim” Moore (pictured, black male, DOB: 12-17-2001) for attempted second-degree murder. The incident occurred in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive on June 1. Armed Robbery

  • On June 18, NOPD Fifth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dantrell McKnight (not pictured, black male, DOB: 03-13-2000) for armed robbery. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Agriculture Street on June 18. Anyone with information on McKnight’s whereabouts is asked to call 504-658-6050 or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111.
  • On June 15, NOPD First District and Second District detectives, along with the Violent Offender Warrant Squad, arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male for two counts of armed robbery and one count each of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile; illegal carrying of a firearm while committing a crime of violence or in possession of or during the sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance; and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
