UPDATE: Genel Tilus has been arrested and booked in regards to this investigation.
ORIGINAL:The NOPD is seeking to locate Genel Tilus (pictured, DOB: 12/17/1983) for his involvement in an aggravated assault incident that occurred on May 31, 2020.
At around 1:20 a.m., the victim was walking through the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive when she encountered Genel Tilus. Tilus accused the victim of picking up an item from the ground that Tilus supposedly dropped. Tilus proceeded to retrieve a machete from his vehicle and swung the weapon at the victim nearly striking her face. Afterward, Tilus fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan.
