The NOPD has arrested Justin Lambert (pictured, DOB: 10-13-1986) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on May 31, 2020 in the 2900 block of Preston Place.

At about 2:36 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the block. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male victim lying in the driveway of a residence and suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was declared dead at the scene. At that point, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the investigation.

As investigation proceeded, detectives were quickly able to develop and positively identify Lambert as the perpetrator soon after the incident. Lambert was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a charge of manslaughter.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Detective Maggie McCourt at 504-658-5300.
