NOPD Investigates Sixth District Homicide

NOPD Investigates Sixth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult female Saturday night.

Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting around 8:08 p.m. in the 2800 block of Magnolia Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult females, ages 25 and 27, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to University Medical Center where the 25-year-old victim later died.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is currently available. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
