The NOPD is investigating an Eighth District homicide that claimed the life of an adult male.
On June 30, 2019 around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 900 block of Saint Louis Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital, where he later died.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
