ARRESTED: NOPD Apprehends Suspect Wanted For Multiple Vehicle Burglaries

NOPD officers have arrested Malcolm Wylie (DOB: 07/22/2000) in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Third District.

Third District detectives conducted numerous investigations into auto burglaries throughout the area of Pontchartrain Park. The first incident occurred on June 3, 2019 in the 4800 block of Congress Drive. The victim’s vehicle was reportedly ransacked and items were reported stolen from inside the vehicle.

The second incident occurred on June 4, 2019 in the 4700 block of Ferdinand Street. The victim’s vehicle was ransacked, however, no items were reported stolen. The subject also burglarized a third vehicle that same day in the 5800 block of Providence Street. The victim’s wallet was reported stolen during this incident.

During the course of the investigation, detectives positively identified Wylie as the perpetrator in the aforementioned vehicle burglaries. He was apprehended on June 13, 2019 and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he was booked accordingly.
