NOPD Searches for Suspect Wanted in Auto Burglary Incident on Baronne Street

Officers in the Eighth District are searching for the pictured subject after he allegedly stole several items from the interior portion of the victim’s vehicle that was parked in the 600 block of Baronne Street.

On Monday, May 28, 2018, the victim parked her 2008 blue Nissan Sentra, bearing Louisiana license plate #SQL373, outside of the business at or around 11:47 p.m. On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at or around 6 a.m., the victim’s coworker alerted her to the damage done on her vehicle. The victim then relocated outside and observed her front passenger window had been smashed inward by an unknown object.

During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage from the area which showed the subject striking the passenger side window with an unknown object, causing it to shatter. He then reached inside the interior portion of the vehicle and retrieved some property. The subject fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Baronne Street. The perpetrator was last seen wearing a light colored hoodie, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
