NOPD Arrests Two for Possession of Stolen Property on Curran Boulevard

The NOPD has arrested Paris Scott (DOB: 06-23-1992) and Kiffany Butler (DOB: 02-19-1987) for allegedly possession items reported stolen from various vehicles.

On June 14, 2018, NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call concerning a suspicious person reportedly stripping multiple vehicles in the 10000 block of Curran Blvd. Upon further investigation, it was learned a subject later identified as Butler was allegedly taking vehicle parts into her apartment. Officers relocated to Butler’s apartment, where they met with both Butler and another female later identified as Scott. During the encounter, officers observed vehicle tires in Butler’s living room, at which time a search warrant was secured for her apartment. Investigators determined that due to Scott’s evasiveness during questioning and being present at Butler’s apartment with the stolen tires, she was also involved in the incident. A search warrant was also secured for Scott’s apartment as well. A search of both subjects’ apartments revealed vehicle parts taken from various vehicles found to have been stolen.

Both Butler and Scott were arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal possession of stolen property.

Investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
