VOWS Unit Apprehends Additional Suspects

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested three more individuals today including suspects wanted in connection with armed robbery, home invasion, and aggravated battery.

 

Joshua James (DOB: 4/20/2004) for armed robbery with a firearm. The incident occurred at the intersection of Dauphine Street and Kerlerec Street on May 25, 2017, in the Eighth District. He was apprehended in the 3000 block of Law Street.  No photo available.

 

Rushonika Duncan (DOB: 4/27/1988) for aggravated battery by cutting. The incident occurred at the intersection of Tulane Avenue and South Broad Street on May 20, 2017, and Duncan was apprehended in the 2600 block of Gravier Street in the First District.

 

George Kelly (DOB: 7/23/1975) for home invasion, aggravated second degree battery, simple battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of South Roman Street on June 1, 2017, and he was arrested in the 3300 Block of Baronne Street in the Sixth District.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
